Ballymun Partnership recently hosted Downs Syndrome Awareness Day and invited the Ballymun community to join them in raising funds for Down Syndrome Ireland.
Downs Syndrome Ireland promotes awareness about Downs Syndrome each year by requesting that people all over the country join in their 'ice cream' campaign to raise both awareness of Downs Syndrome and to raise funds for adults and children affected by the condition. This event was sponsored by HB Ireland who providd the ice cream free of charge.

The Partnership, along with the Childcare Resource Centre and the North Dublin Supported Employment Initiative, hosted an awareness day on Thursday 27th May between 10 a.m. and 12.00 to support Downs Syndrome Ireland's campaign. Speaking about the day, Lisa Walsh, Manager of the Childcare Resource Centre said: "Not only are we supporting a national organisation's efforts to raise awareness locally about the supports and services available for families, we are also meeting our own aims by providing a wide spectrum of information that affects the general well-being and development of the child". She added, "we are always eager to work with agencies and organisations that share this aim."
